A new high in the sport of dressage, here is the amazing ride by Edward Gal and the black stallion Totilas (2009 Kur Windsor).  For those not familiar with the sport, the Kur is the top level of competition and is an Olympic sport. (A writer and a rider, Tahoma and I finished at second level before becoming trail warriors).

“The characters were well developed with good depth.  The push and pull relationship between Jaline and Jonathan provides good tension.  I really liked the style of writing in this book.  It was almost terse but it worked well with the mystery.  The book seemed to have a sense of darkness to it, perhaps because of the exotic nature and mystery shrouding Jaline and the artifact.  The dark flavor provided an extra element of interest.”

Ute Vladimir, my stepmother passed last night after battled breast cancer.  Mother of two, stepmother of five, beloved Oma to many grandchildren, she will be missed.

As some of you are aware, my father died December 15th.  Since then, family illness has been a plague.  This summer, an aunt, my stepfather’s mother and my stepmother has end stage breast cancer.  Between travel, family and deadlines, the summer has been a rough one.  My apologies for not posting often and thank you to those who have sent me notes!!  Your support, your comments on RENEGADE and your friendship are all appreciated!

I spent the weekend attending Lori Foster’s Reader and Author Get Together in Cincinnati, OH with over 3oo fellow readers and writers.  It was an amazing trip!  Lori did an incredible job and her volunteers were phenomenal.   In a fun and relaxed atnosphere we talked, ate, played games and discussed books.  As added bonus, proceeds are going to be donated to local non-profits.  A good cause on so many levels, I am very happy that I went!
